Elite Salon & Spa began with one chair and one conviction: that beauty is not something you chase — it's something you claim when you learn to care for yourself without apology.

Trained in London.
Rooted in Bergen County.
Marta Mehlmann trained at the Sassoon and Hob Academies in London and with TONI&GUY and Mahogany, and was personally mentored by Tina Haukjaer Andersen — a thirty-year veteran of Vidal Sassoon’s creative direction.
In 2002 she brought that education to Route 17 South and never stopped adding to it: every year, she and her artists return to the academies of London, Paris, Italy, and New York — then bring what they learn back to your chair.

The House Timeline
2002
Marta Mehlmann opens Elite in Hasbrouck Heights, bringing Sassoon and TONI&GUY training home to Bergen County.
2010
The spa opens — master estheticians certified in Paris and Germany join the house.
2018
Elite Academy launches, training the next generation in precision cutting under former Vidal Sassoon creative director Tina Haukjaer Andersen.
Today
Eighteen artists, five levels of mastery, and a promise unchanged for 23 years: live beautifully.
